People travel all over the country looking for something to do when there’s great good fun to be had in their very own backyard. Visit Big Splash Adventure Indoor Water Park But then? Wow did I have fun! I wish I had started with the slides earlier but oh, well. I wasn’t brave enough to battle the stairs (you know my fear of heights, right?) until the next morning. They couldn’t wait to tell me how creepy the red slide was at night–so dark you can’t see anything but can feel the temperature change as it darts outside the building. Kid #1 and my husband, Jeremy, were brave enough to tackle the slides first thing. It took him awhile to warm up to the idea of it all but he enjoyed himself. It was great that he had something to do at his level. Kid #2 loved the toddler pool and slide. He felt like such big stuff. Kid #1 liked to go through it with me. I liked to bop his inner tube over and under as many buckets, fountains, and other “get you drenched” sort of surprises. How fun is that? The lazy river was calling my name. What’s great is that even after you check out, you are still allowed access to the indoor water park. It kept them busy while we got ready in the morning so that’s absolutely fine with me. They built a fort using the pillows that stretched across the bed. The kids really liked playing with the giant pillows. Boy, did I have it wrong. Extra-long decorative pillows, a comfortable mattress, and nice, neutral colors lent a relaxing feel to the room. Who knew our room, one of 154 available rooms, at Big Splash Indoor Water Park would be so comfortable? I was expecting more “kid-friendly” and less decorative type things. Kid #1 couldn’t believe his great good luck. We had been sitting in the car for hours. It looks really sharp, all 40,000 square feet of it. But the way this indoor water park is built, and how it is situated on this hill, it was pretty obvious where it was located, and what we were going to get to do.Įncased in glass windows, there’s no hiding or missing the colorful slides darting around inside–and even out. They just knew we were on the way to something good.
Where we live in northwest Indiana, there aren’t exactly big hills and trees everywhere. We sometimes like to keep secrets like that when we are traveling Indiana.
